On offer here is probably one of the RAREST ROLLING STONES ALBUMS you will ever find.
This is the ORIGINAL 1st PRESSINGS (1A/1A) with the 2.52 mins Version of "TELL ME", which was very quickly withdrawn and replaced with the standard pressing, with the 4.06 mins version. This Album has been in my own collection for the last thirty plus years and in that time has probably only been played half a dozen times!!!
To find a decent standard version of this album is hard enough, but to have this ULTRA RARE VERSION in this condition is very nearly impossible.
The Vinyl has some light surface marks and a couple of light scratches evident, but after cleaning and playing through twice, I can confirm that the album plays SUPERBLY, with only two discernible clicks halfway through track 1, side 1 "ROUTE 66", apart from that, there is very little in the way of surface noise and NO skips or jumps.
The Record still retains a BEAUTIFUL SHEEN, with the "Grooved" Labels showing just some mild spindle wear, but nothing serious at all.
The Album displays what I can only describe as, "SIMPLE RAW POWER" which shines through in the OUTSTANDING DYNAMICS.
Visually, I would conservatively grade the Vinyl as VG, but it really does play nearer to EX-.
The Front Laminated "MacNeill Press" Flipback Cover is in EXCELLENT CONDITION, with the front lamination retaining a beautiful shine and the rear of the cover still nice and white. There is a touch of spine wear (see photo's), but there are NO splits or tears, writing or grubby marks.
This is also the RARE version with "MONA" listed on the rear of the cover (see photo's). SUPERB!!!
It will break my heart to sell this, my most cherished album, but as my car has just gone to the big scrapyard in the sky, needs must and all that!!!at least thats what my wife said!!!
THERE IS NO RESERVE ON THIS TRULY RARE ALBUM, SO DON'T MISS OUT!!!!
