ALBUM PLAYED FOR GRADING:

This great record plays up to the high visual grading and beyond . Strong, undistorted sound free of any loud pops, clicks or distortion. Channels are clean and unstressed. The music jumps out, with definition and clarity, particularly on the percussion instruments, and vocals which come through with tremendous power. 

This really is an unbelievable piece, with NO loud clicks, hiss or pops or continuous unwanted sounds. This great record plays with what I would call TOP AUDIO audio. This RARE MONO press has strong undistorted audio, with Super clear sound and minimal background static. It really sounds great and plays with great sound separation and clarity!

Superb sound, every track has been tested and I could find no obvious sound blemishes. Some light occasional static only. Wonderful TOP audio,  Great music with great clarity, and so hard to find with this type of sound. The tonal quality make this a sensational pressing. With the clear and extra loud First cut engineering giving the audio a vibrant sound which cannot be beaten.

THE RECORD - Visual Grading - EXCELLENT

A superb piece of glossy vinyl, and a really thick pressing. Deep clear grooves that can only be found on the original early pressings, this vinyl has been little played. It does have some faint sleave removal marks, and two small scratches on side 1 only, but the are very light and have no effect on the sound. Unbelievable to think this vinyl is over 40 years old! 

The vinyl surfaces are gleaming, and have only the faintest of handling marks. This great vinyl has been played, but carefully and shows no groove wear what so ever, as proven though the great audio delivery.

The Rolling Stones is the debut album by The Rolling Stones, released by DECCA in the United Kingdom on 16 April 1964, and sometimes known as Stones No.1.

Recorded at Regent Sound Studios in London over the course of five days in January and February 1964, The Rolling Stones was produced by Andrew Loog Oldham and Eric Easton. The Rolling Stones was originally released by DECCA in the UK, while the US  England newest Hit-makers appeared on the London Labels label, with the track "Not Fade Away" (the a side of the band's third UK single) replacing "Mona (I Need You Baby) 

The majority of the tracks reflect the band's love for authentic R & B material. Mick Jagger  and Keith Richards were still much fledging songwriters during early 1964, contributing only one original composition to the album: "Tell Me". Two numbers are credited to  "Nanker Phelge" - a pseudonym the band used for group compositions from 1963 to 1965. Phil Spector and Gene Pitney   both contributed to the recording sessions, and are referred to as "Uncle Phil and Uncle Gene" in the subtitle of the Nanker Phelge instrumental "Now I've Got a Witness".

The album cover photo was taken by Nicholas Wright. The cover bears no title or identifying information other than the photo and the Decca logo - an "unheard of" design concept originated by manager Andrew Oldham. The Rolling Stones became one of 1964's biggest sellers in the UK, staying at #1 for 12 weeks.

THE COVER – EXCELLENT PLUS to NEAR MINT

Comes with the original Side Loading NUMBERED Gatefold Sleeve, printed in England by NacNeil Press.

Superb example, a UK ORIGINAL NacNeil Press cover. An absolutely stunning example, the best I have ever seen. Mirror like sheen to the laminate and pure white on the reverse. This is the original laminated cover, without the flip backs, I have ever seen one in this condition. It has been kept in a non corrosive plastic sleeve since new, and looks hardly touched.

Only slight defects are some light extremely laminate indentations and some slight laminate lift at the spine, as shown clearly in the image. This really is  a stunning cover, with little to fault it, other than some very light handling marks and minimal corner compression. 

There is no feathering to the opening edges, which are crisp and straight as new. Superb

THE LABELS - EXCELLENT PLUS

Famous RED DECCA labels are in GREAT Condition, no marks or writing, no discernible  spindle wear, and only light discernible  spindle traces. Really early copies of THE ROLLING STONES FIRST ALBUM album were released with the label error "Mona". The track "I Need You Baby" was incorrectly titled as 'Mona' and makes this a true rarity, especially in this condition.  Great all round examples, with a few very light spindle traces only! STUNNING!

THE INNER

Original DECCA Poly Lined extra thick inner sleeve in EXCELLENT PLUS Condition. These original inner sleeves are unbelievably rare, and finding an un damaged un torn example is near impossible.  This is a stunning example, with No Tears, No writing, no creasing, and virtually NO yellowing. Pretty amazing for a paper sleeve thats 46 years old!!!

VINYL SOUND - PLEASE NOTE:
Top quality vinyl with clear sound is rare, and is what I always aim for. Even with the cleanest copies you will find occasional static sound during playback, caused by a build of dust in the grooves. This is clearly different from the distortion, loud pops or clicks that are found on heavily played and worn pieces of vinyl. Any static build up will reduce when played, and I advise a light clean should be given between plays for optimal performance.

MINT: Virtually unplayed. The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. Cover is pristine.

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

V.G PLUS: The record will still be nice and shiny, but may have a few light marks, and will play well. Slight wear and tear on the cover.

V.G: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and occasional light scratch.Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items.

GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, etc.

FAIR: Fair. It is noticeable that the record has been played so much that the sound quality has deteriorated very noticeably. The cover and contents are showing signs of folding, scuffing of edges etc.
