What you have here is a rare and UNIQUE / ONE OFF TEST PRESSING / MISPRESSING / WHITE LABEL PROMO of THE SMITHS - HOW SOON IS NOW? from 1985. AN ORIGINAL TEST PRESSING PRESSING AND A MUST !!!
This one of the rarest SMITHS / MORRISSEY promo items out there, and IS ONE OF ONLY A FEW I HAVE EVER SEEN FOR SALE !!!
This version was rushed to radio by the band's ex-manager and promotion guy the late great Scott Piering R.I.P., and as a result had the wrong B. side - "OSCILLATE WILDLY" instead of the intended B. side "Well I Wonder", as a result Scott Piering himself wrote in pen FAULTY on the B. side so that radio DJ's will not play it as this was the wrong song, although the record is mint and plays MINT !!!.
This is also the much rarer pressing through the Lyntone pressing plant, rather then the more common Mayking Pressing plant, the matrix numbers are:A. SIDE: RT-176-A LYN-15492-1C Z and also "THE TATTY TRUTH" and the B. SIDE is: RT-176 -B LYN-15493-1C-Z.
The labels as you can see are also hand written on the A. side !!!
This copy came from a radio person who received this directly from Scott Piering himself, but never played it.
The sleeve also includes the original SCOTT PIERING gold promotion company sticker !!!
The single was pressed on ROUGH TRADE RECORDS, catalogue number RT 176.
The tracks are: HOW SOON IS NOW / OSCILLATE WILDLY (wrong b. side).
As I said , this is the only way to get this ONE OFF UNIQUE SPECIAL TEST PRESS PROMO VERSION, SO DON'T LET THIS PASS YOU BY!!!
The condition of the VINYL is UNPLAYED NEAR MINT condition, P/S is in EX++ condition.
