TONY SCHWARTZ: You're Stepping On My Shadow (Folkways FD 5582, mono)

Condition : Cover is VG++, bit of wear to one corner. Vinyl is EX, light scratch on first cut. Has the insert.
Description : Rare 1962 LP by the famed documentarian / ad man. Nine "sound stories" recorded in NYC and originally broadcast on the program "Around New York" on WNYC. The insert has an essay by Ben Shahn and a page of info about the relative pricing and quality of tape decks and microphones available in 1962 (in case you wanted to become an audio documentarian yourself). One track features clarinetist Jimmy Giuffre improvising to 'concrete' environmental sounds like a dripping faucet & footsteps echoing in a cavernous lobby! Fascinating item!

Records are shipped in a cardboard record mailer with sufficient padding, and the disc is removed from the jacket to prevent seamsplits. The picture may have some glare visible from a reflection- this is not a flaw in the item.
