HERE is an ultra rare first press UK copy of Overlander, the 1966 debut album on Reality from Trevor Lucas, later to partner Sandy Denny both in Fotheringay and in life.
The thick slab of vinyl is a comfortable VG with only the lightest of surface marks to be seen when critically examined under strong halogen lighting; there is a very slight dish effect to the disc, which does not affect play in any way, and there are absolutely no scratches of any kind. The textured labels remain beautifully unmarked and show very little evidence of any spindle wear, indicating rare playage over the years.
The fully laminated single sleeve is in Good+ condition; it looks fabulous for its years although a section of the opening edge looks to have been pushed beyond its comfort zone at some stage in its life, resulting in a little pulling back of the laminate (see photo); there is some light laminate lift near the spine, and a somewhat compressed bottom corner to the spine but otherwise this is a perfectly presentable copy.
Amazingly more than 50 years have passed since the release of this album, which has now become a rarely seen but necessary cornerpiece of the jigsaw for any Fotheringay/Sandy Denny or Fairport Convention completist.
