Description

I’ve recently acquired a number of extremely rare vintage test pressings spanning jazz (Tubby Hayes, Ronnie Scott, Alan Skidmore), soul (Aretha Franklin), pop (Phil Spector) and more. I’m selling them all now, so please check my other items.

Tubby’s Groove

(UK Decca test pressings) 1960

 

Up for auction here are two single-sided UK Decca white label test pressing discs of the classic ‘Tubby’s Groove’ LP, which was released on Tempo (as TAP 29).

 

Each contains one side of the finished LP, with the other side playing a continuous reference tone.

 

The personnel is Tubby Hayes (tenor sax, vibes), Terry Shannon (piano), Jeff Clyne (bass) and Phil Seamen (drums).

 

Both discs are in clean VG+ condition, and come in their original ‘factory sample’ inner sleeves.

 

Needless to say, you will probably never have another chance to acquire this.


I’ve been selling records on eBay since 2001 and am a collector myself. I have 100% positive feedback and grade records as accurately and conservatively as possible, as well as packing them with great care.
