Description
Nice first press (1B/1B matrices) copy of the rare Tempo LP TAP29, 'Tubby's Groove', Tubby Hayes Quartet.
Personnel: Tubby Hayes (tenor sax, vibes), Terry Shannon (piano), Jeff Clyne (bass), Phil Seamen (drums).
Sleeve is very nice condition. These flimsy sleeves usually suffered badly over the years with wear and tear, but this one is structurally excellent, with fully intact flipbacks (little age browning on them, but minor), a little ringwear, 9 light spine edge creases, nice clear spine edge titles, 5 light bottom edge creases, 3 light top edge creases, a little spine edge laminate lift and light scuffs to each corner. These are all relatively minor points on a very nice sleeve. Overall grade is VG.
Beautifully pressed (by Decca) vinyl plays extremely well, very strong audio. Side one has some light hairlines which don't affect audio, and 4 obvious marks which cause occasional but not overly-intrusive clicks. Side two has similar hairlines plus 5 similar obvious marks affecting audio in the same way. Despite these few marks, this is a very nice copy and easily grades VG+.
