Description
Mint condition TEST PRESSING of "SOTAA" 8 song 7" EP by Finnish Hardcore band Tampere SS. (self-released, Finland, 1983) Recorded at JJ-Studio, Tampere, May 1983. I believe first pressing was limited edition of 200 copies, which makes that a pretty rare record, and this is a test pressing of that record, which would make it even rarer. Record has white paper labels, with "A-Side Tampere SS" hand-written in green marker on the Side A. Side B label is blank. Matrix (inscribed text on vinyl around label) on Side A says [ JHEP-83 A and FX ] Matrix on Side B says [ "JHEP 83"B and FX ]. According to info on the re-issues that have been made of this record (in Finland on Hate Records and in U.S. on Havoc Records), the 8 songs on this 7" EP are: "Sotaa", "Sunnuntai-Ilta", "Taisteluhymni", "Loputon Marsii", "Kaveleva Ruumis", "Takaa-Ajettu", "Sekasorto", "Pikku-Mako".........Here is a link to a Finnish website with photos of the original record, and of its labels: http://www.finnmusic.net/main.php?62525c5348077550585c06.......Here are 2 reviews I found of the record: "...Finland produced some of the best HC of that era, TAMPERE SS being amongst the best of 'em. Classic thrash with some slower, more rythmic, noisy stuff a la KAAOS. Actually, I think these guys had KAAOS members in them or vice versa. Maybe their demo ep, also on Havoc, is even better. On Mar-19-08 at 06:34:07 PDT, seller added the following information:Since I made use of the great Finn Music website for researching the Tampere SS test pressing as well as the Flatbroke 7" I'm selling, I thought it only proper to send them scans of the labels of these 2 records so they could put them in their database. They have since added JPGs of the labels to their website, so if you're wondering how the handwriting on the Tampere SS test pressing label could be absolutely identical, it's because it's the same exact test pressing!
