Here it is: The prize of my record collection. I’ve put off the selling of this album for as long as possible, but the bills need paying, so … gulp … here’s your chance of owning it.

This possibly is the best copy in existence, a real one-of-a-kind, of what many consider the preeminent psychedelic masterpiece. It is Factory Sealed and the cover underneath the shrink is flawless. The shrink is sealed tight and has breather holes, indicating it is Factory Sealed. Affixed to the shrink on the back cover is a Hudsons sticker. The accompanying photos don’t do this justice, because the shrinkwrap reflects a glare from the camera flash and my shadow.

BACKGROUND: This album was purchased as part of a stunning 1960’s record collection, much of which remained Factory Sealed. I’ve already auctioned dozens of those sealed albums, as well as many others, so please check Feedback Score and Seller Ratings for reputability. The collection this album belonged to was stored upright in crates with tops. I am its second owner and have continued the tradition of its first owner in preserving it in such a manner of keeping it like new.

CONDITION: The winner of this auction can expect a Factory Sealed mono pressing of The Psychedelic Sounds of The 13th Floor Elevators on the International Artist record label (Catalog No. 1A – No. 1). THIS IS NOT A RE-SEAL, of that I am 100 percent confident. As previously noted, there are breather holes in the shrinkwrap, indicating an original seal. There also is a Hudsons sticker affixed to the shrink on the back cover. Under the shrinkwrap, the winner will find an album cover with four sharp corners. What will NOT be found are stains, discoloration due to age, creases of any kind, seam or spine splits of any kind, ringwear, shelfwear, handwriting, cutout bin markings, or any other defects. In other words, plan on receiving a FLAWLESS copy, as if you walked into a record store more than 40 years ago and had your pick of the best copy available. The cover rates a 10 on a scale of 10. As a fussy record collector myself, I am 100 percent positive the winner will NOT find that an optimistic or liberal grade. Again, the album cover is FLAWLESS. Not even a minor crease to be found. By Goldmine Record Album Price Guide standards, the album cover is MINT (“absolutely perfect in every way”).

If it is obviously defective, although there is no reason to believe it is, you'll get an immediate refund. I cannot offer that recourse if you want the LP sent as Factory Sealed. If that leaves you unsettled, shop elsewhere. This album is highly sought and I am not playing games with dishonest persons wanting to swap out their beat up copy for my unplayed copy.
