Description

An original 1973 copy of FILLMORE on USA Capricorn. Etching 'DK/AT'. Most certainly very cool labels - I believe this label design was only ever used on this particular title. You will note that for each record one label has the original Atlantic address '1841 Broadway' and the other has 'Rockerfeller Plaza'. 1st press was back in 1971[using 1841 Address] - this copy comes from when Atlantic were moving address during 1973 - roughly two years later. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original heavy-card gatefold. I'm pretty sure the cover is identical to the ones at 1st issue [with '1841 Broadway' address still in the interior]. The presentation and artwork is top dollar. We also have both original 1973 Atlantic inner sleeves. So, that's 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex) In marvellous condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection I can only make out a couple of lightest marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are lovely and quiet and the audio comes across with superb clarity. Gotta love this album....an absolute classic. The band are on fire and [Dowd] did a fab job of laying it down on vinyl. Highly addictive. Plays clean as a whistle even into the fussy lowkey noodling sections. A couple of crackles in a couple of isolated spots per side. What is not to like!!
Cover (Vg+) In great condition with relatively unworn front and rear. The interior looks superb - excellent quality print job which I tip my hat to. Expect a fair bit of edge wear as is common on this title. It has worn through particularly on the right panel bottom edge. I have tape repaired to keep it all together and tidy it up. The spine looks excellent with only minor wear. The openings are both firm and sharp - nice! Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity in part thanks to the heavy card employed in manufacture.
Inners (Vg) A bit of ageing. Edge splits have been taped up.
