Description

An original 1st MONO press of OLDIES on the UK Parlophone label from 1966. Matrix 1G/1G - 1st cut. The very earliest copies should mention the publishing credits all over on the left side of the label - as you find here. These early copies were pressed heavy - don't risk a substandard copy [we source the best available on the market]. The vinyl comes housed in an original MONO G&L cover.  Also included is an original 'patents applied for' inner sleeve - correct for 1966 and this release. So, we're 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex) In lovely condition and has only seen light use. Take a look at those label shots! Real nice mirror like surfaces. Under close inspection I could only make out a couple of light marks per side, a couple of very superficial trails - absolutely nothing remotely troublesome though. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT level of playback with just slight deviation in one track. Intros and inbetweens are lovely and quiet and the audio comes across with superb clarity. An absolute top level performer - very impressive. The only audible background I could pick out was during Michelle, but much less than you typically find [pretty minimal really]. Yesterday exhibits a few crackles in the opening but it generally plays very clean [much better than most specimens]. Submarine plays brill! Rigby plays very clean - which is unusual. Overall a beautifully preserved copy which is more than capable of dishing these Beatles classics out in top form. 
Cover (Ex-) Lovely and clean shiny front with just a couple of slight thumbnail creases. The rear seems to have escaped most of the ageing process - just the faintest observable in a couple of spots. Edge wear is very light for this title and the spine is in nice order - just a couple of stress creases. All text fully legible on the spine. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Vg+) Lightly aged. A side split has been taped up.
