WITH RARE **MIS-ALIGNED** APPLE LOGO ON THE REVERSE OF THE SLEEVE, AND **WITHOUT** ‘HER MAJESTY' SONG CREDIT TO THE SIDE 2 RECORD LABEL, DARK GREEEN APPLE LABEL, SUPERB GLOSSY MISALIGNED APPLE SLEEVE.
This Abbey Road LP is from the collection of Norman 'Hurricane' Smith. Norman Smith began working at Abbey Road Studio’s in 1959 as an apprentice for EMI. George Martin used him for The Beatles Recording Sessions, including their very first ever EMI Recording stint, and he continued as their Recording Engineer right through to the Rubber Soul sessions in December 1965.
Item Description/Condition:
A highly collectible example of The Beatles FIRST ISSUE UK Apple Vinyl LP, 'Abbey Road', released by EMI/Apple records on 26th September 1969 on the Custom dark green Apple label, with 'Apple Records' label rim , 'Mfd in UK' label text and **Without**Her Majesty’ song title credited to the side 2 record label. The original Garrod & Lofthouse fully laminated sleeve features the mis-aligned Apple logo to the reverse – aligned nearer to the gate edge of the sleeve.
Both sides of the Record Labels are in undamaged Near Mint condition, a bright and clean set of record labels, with no more than a couple of faint spindle lines.
Both sides of the glossy Vinyl Disc are in superb Excellent Plus condition, glossy vinyl surfaces, with only a couple of very light surface hairlines, there are no scratches or scuffs to either side.
The Official stamped matrices are: Side 1 Matrix YEX 749-2 and Side 2 Matrix YEX 750-1.
Side 1 stampers: 1 MLG, and Side 2 stampers: 4 AMP.
The Vinyl Disc comes in a printed Apple Records Made in Gt Britain record bag, which is in Excellent condition, no seam splits just light creasing.
The album is housed in its original and fully laminated , Garrod & Lofthouse Picture sleeve featuring the rarer mis - aligned Apple logo to the reverse of the sleeve.
The Glossy FIRST ISSUE Fully Laminated mis- aligned Apple Garrod & Lofthouse sleeve is in superb undamaged Excellent condition, the front and back laminate are very glossy and the colours have remained bright and vivid, with only mild record indentation, and light laminate pinches. All edges, corners, and spine edge are undamaged.
Play Quality:
The album plays well through all the tracks without any skips or clicks, a really strong and powerful Stereo sound quality, there is very, very mild background crackle to the quieter tracks.
Overall a very nice example of this Collectable, original UK Beatles **FIRST ISSUE**Album with the rare mis-aligned Apple Logo on the reverse of the sleeve.
