Description

An original 1st mono press of HELP! on the UK Parlophone label. Matrix 2/2 - 1st cut. Please note very 1st pressings should still exhibit the the abbreviated 'Lark Mus.' publishing credit and there should be a 'space' between the asterisk and the end of the track 'I Need You'. Crazy! - but true! Well worth insisting on the earlies copies as they are pressed on chunky 60's vinyl. The vinyl comes housed in an original Mono G&L cover. There's also the original the Emitex inner sleeve. So, we're 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) In superb condition and has clearly only seen very light use. Absolutely superb surfaces for a 60's Lp - just look at those label shots! Under close inspection I can only make out a couple of light marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT level of playback with one deviation. No kidding - this is an absolutely cracking copy. Very rarely do you witness true mid-sixties deliver properly clean signal. Intros and inbetweens are lovely and quiet and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. Great delivery into the upbeat and low-key numbers. About as clean as you can possibly hope for. The only thing I could pick out was a few errant crackles in 'Lose that Girl' and a couple of minor ticks as it closes out [no big deal]. Other than expect a very clean and impressive rendition throughout. Even the fussiest darn track "Yesterday" plays nice and clean - much much better than you typically find. Overall -  very very nice indeed.
Cover (Vg+) Often found in disappointing condition it's always nice to track down the occasional copy where the original integrity of that iconic front image is largely intact. This example exhibits a still very nice and white presentation without major fault - just a couple of slight thumbnail creases and a tiny blemish under Lennon's arm. The back is usually the problem area. But this copy has certainly survived the worst of the ageing process. There's a touch of low-level noticeable - but nothing unsightly. All flipbacks are intact and secure. Edge wear is minor for this title and the spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity. A lovely specimen for sure.
Emitex (Vg+) Lightly aged. A tape residue mark. No splits though!
