Description

Up for sale is a stunning early Japanese pressing of The Beatles - Hey Jude (also known as The Beatles Again), released on the Apple Records label.
This is the highly sought-after AP-8940 series, manufactured by Toshiba Musical Industries Ltd. (pre-1973). Japanese pressings from this era are world-renowned for their superior sound quality, silent surfaces, and thick card sleeves.

Technical Details & Matrix Codes:
This copy features very early stampers, signifying it was pressed near the beginning of the production run for the best possible audio fidelity.
• Matrix Side 1: SW1-385 4S
• Matrix Side 2: SW2-385 1S 2 3 (Rare 1st Lacquer / 1st Mother / 3rd Stamper)
• Label: Apple Records (Japan)
• Catalog Number: AP-8940

Condition Report:
• Vinyl: Near Mint (NM). The vinyl retains a beautiful high-gloss mirror finish. Under bright light, there are only the faintest wisps from the inner sleeve. It appears very low-play.
• Sleeve: Very Good (VG). The heavy-duty "pasted" jacket is sturdy with sharp edges. Minor age-related wear/toning typical for a 50+ year old sleeve.
• Insert: Original Japanese/English lyric insert is included. Features the famous "Old Brown Sheo" typo!
• Inner Sleeve: Includes the original black Apple Records inner sleeve (small tear - see photos)
• Note: This copy does not include the Obi strip.
