Description
I am a long time collector of Beatles vinyl and have decided to sell some of my personal collection. The Beatles vinyl I have currently listed on Ebay is mostly original UK EPs with a few US pressings also listed. Over the years I have collected Beatles vinyl, I have retained only those items for my personal collection that have high quality vinyl that plays near mint to mint; i.e., no ticks, pops, or surface noise. If you are a Beatles collector that enjoys the sonic qualities of listening to as-new vinyl, I think you will find something you like. I have graded all listed vinyl using strict grading standards of the UK vinyl price guide Record Collector and the former US publication Discoveries. All of the vinyl I have listed on Ebay is sold with guaranteed satisfaction. Thanks for your interest.
This item is the UK EP The Beatles Hits. This is an original 1st pressing from 1963 as evidenced by The Parlophone Co. rim print. It was released in September, 1963 and is Parlophone GEP 8880. This is the lowest numbered Beatles EP; however, it was actually the second Beatles EP released. For reasons known only to EMI, it was held back and released after Twist and Shout, which was released in July, 1963.
There were two label variations of this 1st pressing as issued in 1963 and this is the 2nd variation as evidenced by the "Recording First Published 1963" language at 9:00 o'clock on the label. As with The Beatles Please Please Me LP, the initial label omitted this language. The vinyl is near mint with only one very light line (hard to see) on Side 1 keeping it from a mint grade. Side 2 is flawless. The vinyl shows a high gloss, mirror-like surface on the tracks and on the dead wax on the run-ins and run-outs. This is an early pressing with both sides taken from the 1st mother. The stamper on Side 1 is GH and on Side 2 AD. This is a gorgeous example of this EP.
The sleeve is EX to EX+ only due to slight push marks from the record being stored in the sleeve. These are very light and can't be seen unless the sleeve is held at an angle to the light. These push marks are the only flaws. There is no loss of color on the front of the sleeve but the beginning of storage wear can be seen on the reverse. There are no seam splits, no creases, no tears or marks, the sleeve is totally flat, and the corners are square and sharp. Check out the scans. They can be enlarged and tell the story on condition.
Shipping is $4 USPS 1st Class Mail within the US plus the cost of insurance if so desired. Payment is required from US buyers by money order or personal check.
