Description

An original 1st press of LIB on UK Apple. Matrix 2U/2U - the earliest possible iteration for LIB. Please note earliest 1st press often came with a RED Apple logo on the rear of the cover. They then switched production to a green Apple at 1st issue. Please note On side 1 label the '1' of track one can be found directly below the I&D of 'Side 1'. It sounds crazy - but this is precisely the design layout of the very earliest 1st copies. Well worth going for the early copies as they were pressed heavier. The vinyl comes housed in an original and early thin spine cover with a white inner from the time too. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete. We will ship in a REPLICA black inner to preserve the aesthetic of the 1st issue design.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex-) In lovely condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection I can only make out a couple of light marks per side, and one slight superficial trail - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT level of playback with one deviation. Intros and inbetweens are lovely and quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. In my experience LIB is an incredibly fussy record - one of the fussiest by the Beatles.  'Let It Be' and 'Winding Road' are hard to find playing clean even on good looking copies. But this copy is delivering a really clean rendition on these two [unusually so]. The only issue I could pick out was 'Blue For You' - I'm getting a bit of light static here and there in the the track. Nothing invasive - it just won't play quite as clean as the other tracks. Other than that - a near perfect player. Highly recommended.
Cover (Vg+) In great condition and the aesthetic of that front image - has been largely preserved. Nice deep blacks which have not faded - just a crease in the top right and bottom left [on the front]. It looks like the cover took a small knock in the bottom left corner. The rear is equally good with a crease top left and bottom right [the reverse of the front]. Edge wear is very slight and the openings are still firm and sharp. The spine is fully intact with all text legible - just slightest contortion down at the bottom. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity. Very nice indeed.
Inner (Vg+) Lightest ageing. No splits. Bit of writing on the reverse.
