Description
In this auction:
· “MAGICAL MYSTERY TOUR” by the Beatles
· This LP is Capitol Records MAL - 2835.
· This is MONO (monaural) PRESSING.
· The labels don’t have “subsidiary” in the perimeter print on the label, and all of the songs are credited to BMI.
· Mono pressings were issued November 27, 1967.
· “Magical Mystery Tour” was the LAST U.S. Beatles LP title to be issued in MONO. The subsequent Beatles LPs released in the U.S., “Abbey Road”, “The Beatles” (aka: “The White Album”, “Let It Be” and “Hey Jude” (aka: “The Beatles Again”, were ALL issued ONLY in STEREO in the U.S.
· The GATEFOLD COVER is in NICE VG CONDITION. There is light overall wear (as you can see in the images). Most of the wear is on the corners where there is light to moderate wear depending on the corner. There are very small pushes on all 4 corners on the front section of the gatefold cover, and 1 on the rear section. There is a very small scuff on the front cover near the lower left corner, and a name is written very lightly (hardly visible) near the top right corner. There is some age spotting/foxing on the white areas inside the gatefold cover (but not in the booklet).
· The 24-PAGE BOOKLET inside the gatefold cover is still loosely attached and all pages are present. The first page (1 backed with 2) and the last page (23 backed with 24) are still attached to the inside of the gatefold cover; however the center section of the booklet (pages 3-22) are still attached together by 2 staples along the spine but not attached to the beginning and ending pages of the booklet. (It is common to see this kind of separation occur in the booklet.) The 1st and 2nd pages have a 3-inch tear along the bottom of the spine and small tears at the top staple hole on the spine. The booklet Is glued into the gatefold cover such that the left side of the last page blocks part of the lyrics to “Magical Mystery Tour” and “Your Mother Should Know”.
· The VINYL is in VERY STRONG VG to WEAK VG+ CONDITION. There are very light surface hairlines/scuffs. (None of them are “feelable”.)
It’s a NICE UNCOMMON MONOAURAL PRESSING of the BEATLES’ “Magical Mystery Tour” LP to add to your vinyl collection.
