Description

An original early 4th Mono press on UK Parlophone label. Matrix 1N/1N. The labels are correct 4th.... with NO 'Sold In The UK'. 'Parlophone' at perimeter and 'Record 1st Pub' IS present. Which means it would have probably been on for sale early summer 1963 [at the height of Beatlemania]. The heavy-set vinyl comes in an original 1963 Mono cover by E J Day. We also have the original Emitex inner 'patent pending'. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete. 
Vinyl (Ex) In lovely condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection I can only make out a couple of light marks per side, and one superficial trail -  but nothing heavy or that would trouble this very heavy pressing. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT level of playback with one slightest deviation per side. Intros and inbetweens are lovely and quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. I really couldn't recommend it more highly for audio. In terms of a clean background it would give a mint 90's copy a run for its money. Just think about the passage of time though. The vibrancy and energy in these early pressings is just phenomenal. Very little sign of background even in the quieter tracks on side 2. At worst one isolated tick per side and a couple of crackles in a couple of spots per side. Lovin' it. Clean into the fussier tracks on side 2...LMD, TAP,TOH . Highly recommended.
Cover (Vg+) Very nice relatively unaged front with just a couple of minor thumbnail creases and 1c.m. repaired [internally] tear at opening. The rear is in very nice condition. It seems to have avoided the worst of the ageing process - expect some light evidence though and a few sight blemishes... nothing unpalatable really. Flipbacks are secure - but slight damage bottom right corner and some ageing [difficult to avoid entirely]. Spine is 90% intact - not much wear. Overall the cover still retains excellent rigidity. Original owners name written top left - from '64.
Inner (Ex-) Minimal ageing  Bag present. A 1c.m. bottom edge splt.
