The Beatles revolver mono XEX 606 1 Ex no reserve
For auction here is the very rare 606-1 version of revolver - a vinyl that is becoming rarer to find.
THE RELEASE OF " Revolver " WAS A COMPLICATED AFFAIR FOLLOWING A CATALOGUE OF ERRORS. THE FIRST MONO PRESSING, WITH A MAITRIX number XEX605 -2 / XEX 606 –1 contained the wrong mix of the last track “Tomorrow Never Knows." THIS PRESSING WAS QUICKLY WITHDRAWN - AT THE INSISTENCE OF JOHN LENNON - BUT A FEW GOT TO THE SHOPS. THIS IS ONE OF THEM!
MONO XEX606-1 VINYL IS EXTREMELY RARE – it was only available for one day – and is sought after because of REMIX 11 OF TOMORROW NEVER KNOWS – this LP is the only commercial available copy of REMIX 11 – this version is different to the 606-2 or 606-3 MONO VERSIONS AND STEREO VERSIONS – it has LOUDER VOCALS, THE FADE SLIGHTLY LONGER, HAS MORE PIANO AND THE “EFFECTS” ARE VERY DIFFERENT.
The vinyl is in good condition – with a few surface marks and scratches.It is made from the heavy EMI vinyl. The all important side 2 is in excellent condition – all songs excellent no distortion and all play through with no skips or jumps only very, very minor crackling between some tracks. Most importantly TOMMOROW NEVER KNOWS PLAYS THROUGH PERFECTLY. Side 2 Maitrix XEX606-1 with stampers = 1 at the “”9 o clock” position and RH at 3 oclock position. SIDE 1 is also in excellent condition except for a very minor hiss and jump 30 seconds into TAXMAN. Otherwise the rest of the songs are excellent (even the quiet Eleanor Rigby) - Maitrix XEX605-2 with stampers = 3 at the 9 o clock position and Mo at 3 o clock position
The yellow and black Parlophone labels are clean - no writing and only minor spindle wear. There is no KT tax code visible on either side of the label but it does have the “SOLD in UK…” text.
The vinyl is housed in the correct EMITEX inner sleeve and is in good condition. It’s fully intact no tears only minor creases.
Outer sleeve is a Garrod & Lofthouse sleeve and also in excellent condition – just a bit of creasing at the side. The spine is intact and “The Beatles/Revolver” can see seen very clearly in the middle of the spine.
A rare LP P&P wil be at cost and, depending on the winning bid will need postal insurance.
