Description

This is a relist of my earlier offer which I unfortunately had to withdraw at the last minute due to an error in listing.  ... I offer thanks to the people who pointed this out to me and apologies to all who were disappointed in their bids.

An original 1968 mono copy of 'The Beatles' .... often referred to as 'The White Album' released Nov 25th 1968. Album No 0352850 - PMC 7067/7068 -

(xex 709-1, 710-1, 711-1, 712-1). Complete with glossies and lyric sheet.

Plays beautifully

The cover is intact with no tears or bends, just a slight discolouration with age and scuffs down the spine which is beginning to fade the lettering. The word stereo is printed on the back of the cover in small gold letters.

Records look as if they have seldom (if ever) been played.

Original inner black dust covers intact.

Inserts are complete and in wonderful condition.

4 glossy pics and the lyric/photo sheet.

I also include original news paper cuttings of reports of Johns death, dated Wednesday 10th Dec 1980.

This is a Beatles Classic and a legend in its own right.

Not only was it the first Beatles album to be released by Apple Records, and the only original double album released by them, it also marked the beginning of a new era, (or some may say the end of an era) in music history. Not least in their own careers as it is said to have been intended to bring them back to earth after three years of experimental music.

:- it was the last Beatles album to be released with alternate mono mix

:- As a follow-up to 'Magical Mystery Tour' it marked a turning point in their career as each band member began to showcase the extent of their own musical talent and style that would take them into their solo careers.

:- Many of the songs were deeply personal eg 'Julia' is dedicated by John to his mother who was killed by an off duty police officer when he was just 16yrs.

:- Yoko Ono made her first appearance (with Patti Harrison) as backing vocals in 'Birthday'

:- It broke the trend of dramatic and often psychedelic album covers by being presented in a plain white cover with merely embossed letters 'The Beatles' as the title. This style has often been imitated since

A real must for a good Beatles Collection.

I have described this item the best I can. Remember it is nearly fourty years old and looks wonderful for it, but if you are looking for a copy that has never been touched or seen the light of day, please don't bid, but if you want a real piece of music history that has been loved and valued enough to be on show, even if seldom used, then happy bidding.

If you wish to know anything else please E-mail me and I will do my best to answer.
