Rare: The Beatles- With The Beatles Lp (Original Australian Gold/ Black Mono pressing)

This Lp is regarded by many as the second rarest Australian pressed Beatles album (The rarest being the Gold/ Black Please Please Me, which I also have up for auction). This particular Gold/ Black label version stayed in print until March 1964, when it was then replaced by the more well known Black and Yellow label. In these days, the Australian pressings were of a much higher quality than they were later on- known for their loud and rich sound, and deep grooves.... Apparently this Gold/ Black label had been phased out in the UK much earlier, prior to the release of this album.

As many of you would know, this particular cover with the pink writing was also exclusive to Australian copies.

A very hard Lp to find- and given its age, and the fact that so many Beatles records from the 1960s were totally worn out and mistreated- it is a good chance to pick up a copy in reasonable condition (see below for grading).

Don't forget to check my other items- lots of other good rock & related LPs, including a lot more Beatles stuff.

CONDITION (see descriptions below) I found this to be right on the border between VG and VG+. There are some minor scratches and scuffs, but the LP plays very nicely on both sides- no skips, no loud pops.

Cover- see pictures. It is clean on the front, with some minor wear and bend lines around the edges; on the rear you can see the ringmark and some minor stains. Definitely no tears or rips.

It is worth noting that postage may work out cheaper if you are buying mutliple items- I work out all combined postage by weight, not on a per item basis. That way you have the best chance to get a good deal on postage rates, wherever you live. I have a huge list of other interesting titles currently on ebay so check them out at "sellers other items" - you may be suprised what you'll find!!!!

TERMS: PAYMENT IS EXPECTED WITHIN 7 DAYS, NOT LATER, UNLESS PRE ARRANGED.

PLEASE FEEL FREE TO ASK QUESTIONS. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN COMBINED POSTAGE I AM HAPPY TO GIVE QUOTES FOR LOCAL AND INTERNATIONAL POSTAGE.

AUSSIE BIDDERS NOTE- when combining postage for LPs you can usually combine 3-4 titles in the next price bracket of up to 1kg (price varies by postcode)

HANDLING PERIOD: I always do my best to post within 24 hrs of receiving payment, but because I live in a rural area, this cannot always be possible. If there is some reason preventing my usual fast postage regime, I will notify you.

INSURANCE: Please tell me if you want your item insured or registered (in the case of domestic postage). I will give you the relevant price quote for these additional costs, as quickly as possible.

INTERNATIONAL POSTAGE RATES (AIR MAIL):

NEW ZEALAND- $14.15             ASIA- $16.75

USA& CANADA- $19.25          EUROPE- $23.25

Upon the buyer's request, I might be open to sending items by sea mail, to help save money in freight- especially if this is a large combined lot. Please note, this only applies to regions C and D (USA, Canada, Middle East, Europe, etc- not Asia and NZ). It will most likely take more than six weeks for the items to arrive.

Thanks for looking and happy shopping!!!!

Grading/ condition descriptions.

ABOUT THIS GRADING SCALE: it is meant to reflect both the appearance and sound quality of the LP in question. If I ever have doubts re. grading, I play test the item in question. I endeavour to keep my vinyl clean, and so an LP rated EX, for instance, should play that way without you having to clean it first! I try to be careful and tough with my grading (as I hate it when I buy LPs online that don't meet what I think these grades are!), but if you are not satisfied for any reason- please contact me!

Those of you that are perfectionists should not be disappointed with anything in the scales between MINT and EXCELLENT, but if the item is below that rating, please read the descriptions carefully!

I occasionally use a + or - to show if the LP is on the high or low side of that grade. That does not mean, however, that an EX-, for instance, is the same as VG+.

MINT: new/ unplayed. I only give this grading if I can verify that it is unused. LPS that look flawless, without that verification will be MINT-

NEAR MINT Very minor flaws/ very few fine lines or imperfections. In general- will look& sound great

EXCELLENT Minor flaws/ wear such as fine lines, fine scuffs, or minor scratches that will have a minimal impact on play response.  Sound quality should be great!

VERY GOOD Will have flaws such as scuffs, scratches, wear or other marks, but these will not be significant enough for the record to play badly. In fact, typically an LP with this grading will play and sound fine- no probs for those of you who like to listen to your vinyl; just not recommended for those of you that are perfectionists. Take note of any additional comments I might make with items of this grade- especially if they are below the VG+ level. They will usually be scuffier below this level.

GOOD An LP with this grading will have significant scratches, scuffs or other wear. I only will list items with this grading if obscure or of significant interest, and in this case I will play test it and give a detailed response to how well it plays in the general item description above. Usually an LP with this grading will play OK, but could have louder crackles, and/or clicks; depending on variablility between turntables there could be tracking issues too.

About ME: My husband and I are both collectors of music, books, tapes, CDs and other interesting retro items, and usually only sell when we have stockpiled enough stuff we are no longer interested in, to make it viable. Usually we are just happy buying rather than selling!!
