Description
Up for sale is a Beatles Yesterday and Today third state "Butcher Cover" monophonic T2553 LP. This particular item sold at auction from Julien's Auctions of Hollywood in June 2020 for $768. The auction card for this album is included in this sale along with a printout showing a photo of this exact cover from the Julien's website. Also included is a record sleeve (unknown if it is original) and a plastic album cover. This record was manufactured at the Los Angeles plant, as it has the number 6 in the bottom right corner of the back cover. It is my understanding that that plant used stronger glue than other locations, so many of the LA covers were ruined by unprofessional peels, making good LA mono covers a bit rarer.
The actual record has scratches, and I would class it as "fair" condition, but I believe it is the original record. See photos for condition of record and album cover.
Also included in this listing is a United Artist first pressing of A Hard Day's Night (UAL 3366). It has the "I Cry Instead" mistakes, as well as the three lines on the back right cover that mentions "This Boy". Later versions added "I Cry Instead", making the words go to 4 lines. The record itself has scratches, and I would class it as "fair" condition, but the cover itself is in great condition for its age (see photos). This record is also in a plastic cover protector.
