Description
An Original Butcher Cover. This was an attempted full Peel and shows both 2nd and 3rd State. Cover looks great, Suitable for Framing. Cover has the "lifting film" attached, gives a good effect if you frame, and is ready for a peel.
With Original Capitol 1960's inner Sleeve. and the Two Capitol Recall Letters. ( sorry no vinyl )
RIAA # is 6. Pressed in Los Angeles plant. Yesterday And Today by The Beatles, released in 1966 on Capitol, cat no. T 2553, Mono pressing. a 2nd state "Trunk Cover"
The “V” in Ringo’s turtleneck can clearly be seen under the Trunk image, see scans.
The rear of the cover has wear. stains and some pen marks as a result of age, use, handling and storage over last 50+ years, see scans
Two types of adhesive were used ( not necessarily east coast/west coast, Scranton v LA. as I have discovered when I peel) to adhere the Trunk slick to the Butcher cover, until you start the peel you only discover if it was non-synthetic and then you can usually recover the peel in one piece. This was obviously a synthetic adhesive. After 50+ years the adhesive de-natures. again I think LA cover adhesive can be affected by being stored in a hot climate on the west coast when shipped ( not in aircon).
