Outer box set: VG+ with some shelf wear as seen in the photos. Interior: records and sleeves as well as the booklet are in near mint condition! Beautiful UK pressing with super nice picture labels, nicer than the U.S. version. Records have been stored in poly-lined protective inner sleeves since this set was bought by the previous owner. The records look near mint!
1979 UK Box set called "The Complete Buddy Holly", which includes every Buddy Holly recording they could find in 1979, and includes a very nice 64 page 12"x12" booklet, and the vinyl looks un-played. Records are in individual hard cardboard sleeves (unlike the U.S. release which has soft paper sleeves-This is the edition you want! ) with super nice picture sleeves. As stated in the booklet enclosed titled "A Pictorial Account of his Life and Music": "From his first professional recordings - the country duets with Bob Montgomery - to the last ever songs taped just weeks before his death in 1959 - all Holly's recordings are included here, many released for the first time in true stereo. In addition we have included several items on record six that have not been readily available before and which show the lesser known side of Buddy Holly through interviews, demonstration tapes, live recordings, and his early attempts to produce records with other singers". Includes U.S. & UK discography in the booklet as well as an insert of the track listing. This is without doubt the most comprehensive Buddy Holly release on vinyl.
