Description

The Doors were unique and among the most controversial and influential rock acts of the 1960s, mostly because of Jim' Morrison's lyrics and charismatic but unpredictable stage persona.  Morrison refused to be censored. Displaying his  rebel attitude led the Doors to be the only Band to defy Ed Sullivan and use phrases that referenced drugs in the song "Light My Fire" after being told by Ed Sullivan staff not to sing the song the way it was written.  After the performance Ed Sullivan so was incensed at their defiance, he Jim Morrison and the band they would never be on his program again.
