Description

An original Q1 1970 copy of THE DEBUT on UK Elektra. <STEREO> A1A/B. Nice heavy-set vinyl more in keeping with sixties and not the more flimsy stuff which appeared a couple of years later. These Red label copies were only around for quite a short period and hence are extremely hard to track down for the DEBUT. They are also renowned for great audio capabilities. The vinyl comes housed in an original fully laminated cover with yellow Polydor distribution statement on the rear. We also have the original plain white inner sleeve. So, we're 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Vg+) In great condition and has only seen relatively light use. Expect a few light marks per side - nothing heavy or nasty looking. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback with deviation in a couple of places. Some great audio rolling off this quality early Elektra copy - and...did I mention...it's THE DOORS! Well, we'd all like a 1967 copy - but 'my friends'...they are damn hard to get hold of. This is more than early enough to get hold of some of that early DOORS magic in the audio. I am lovin' it. Plays clean mostly and there's some fantastic moody ambience on this copy. The only track I'd say there's a bit of consistent background is during the track  'END OF THE NIGHT' [nothing invasive....it just won't play as clean as other tracks]. Its low-key and most copies will exhibit something in the background [soz]. Other than that all that's observable is a bit of light static in the fussy intro to 'THE END'. As soon as the track gets going it plays nice and clean [smooth!]. I did notice 5-6 ticks midway through [no big deal though]. Given the track is way fussy it is overall playing real nice. A beaut of a copy with some addictive as hell audio.
Cover (Ex-) In great shape considering the vintage. Flat front and rear without much creasing and only minor handling. Relatively little edge wear with nice firm openings. The spine is pretty much fully intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (VG+) Light ageing no splits.
