Description
The New Blockaders w/ Vortex Campaign, 'The New Vortex Blockaders Campaign' LP, Avulsed, Editions Via.
This is an uncirculated stock copy of the LP. The cover pictured is the one which is being offered. The vinyl, while new, may have some light surface marks. When the LPs were received from the pressing plant a number were found to have surface flaws. Rather than go through another attempt to obtain them, this run was kept . The 100 copies which were shipped to England for Editions Rupenus were selected from the records without visual flaw. A small number of the 200 remaining had flaws which appeared to be audible, and were recycled as one of the covers. I realize that the shipping costs seem high, but realize that packed for shipping each copy weighs 3 pounds. Only actual Postage is being charged! Please ask any questions before bidding.
Here is the Aeon catalog copy, the company from which the original cassette was obtained:
Unique collaborative effort between TNB and Vortex Campaign of Belgium. For Side 1, TNB provided the raw sound material which VC remixed, manipulated and fused with their own electronics. The final assembly of tracks took place during a live radio broadcast. Side 2 features solo works by both groups. The result is extreme, nihilistic musique concrete which creates unrelenting walls of sound, which reach ear-splitting intensity. Images of chaos, collapse and extreme violence dominate.
Upon the record’s release, Psychedelic Pig gave this review:
Incredible vinyl re-issue of a very highly sought-after cassette from 1984. Musically, this is amongst The New Blockaders' best, with fragmented gurgling and scraping sounds combined with fierce electronic interference. This is the type of item we've all been hoping would emerge, and now it has arrived. Very ltd. edition (less than 300), it comes in a cover coated with crushed and broken records, and also a colour insert of the original cassette artwork.
