Description
I saw Reverend Peyton's Big Damn Band in a small club here in Florida and they killed it. What a show of energy and pure fun! I bought all their albums and am will go let this one go. It's brand new, sealed. Here's some info.
The Whole Fam Damnily Recorded in a church in Bloomington, Indiana. Went on sale August 4, 2008. Entered Billboard's "Blues" chart at #4 Blues guitarist Kenny Wayne Shepherd was introduced to the album by John Mellencamp and listed it as one of his top five "not-so-guilty pleasures", saying "His playing is great, but the vocal is where it gets unique" and "He sounds like a lumberjack singing. Try to picture some dude in a flannel shirt, walking through the backwoods with an axe and singing to himself."
"Can't Pay the Bill" "Mama's Fried Potatoes" "Worn Out Shoe" "DT's or the Devil" "Your Cousin's on Cops" "John Hughes (The Water Tower's Heart Is Sore)" "The Creek's Are All Bad" "Them Old Days Are Gone" "Walmart Killed the Country Store" "I'd Love You Baby" "Everybody's Getting Paid but Me" "What's Mine Is Yours" "Persimmon Song"
The Reverend Peyton's Big Damn Band is a three-piece American country blues band from Brown County, Indiana. They have played up to 250 dates per year at venues ranging from bars to festivals since 2006. To date, they have released ten albums and one EP, most of which have charted on the Billboard and iTunes Charts.
Reverend Peyton – guitar, lead vocals, and principal songwriter On stage he plays a rusty 1930 steel-bodied National guitar, a 1934 wood-bodied National Trojan Resonator guitar and a 1994 reproduction of a 1929 Gibson acoustic. He has recently added a three-string cigar box guitar to his stage collection. Peyton uses no outboard gear other than a three input switch box between his guitars and the amplifier. He is a noted proponent of fingerstyle guitar, playing the bass line of songs with his thumb while simultaneously playing the melody, the melody of a different song or a round with his fingers.
"Washboard" Breezy "The Miss Elizabeth of Country Blues" Peyton – washboard She plays the washboard using work gloves to which thimbles have been attached. Her aggressive playing style have earned her the reputation as being "arguably the finest percussion player around", and setting fire to her instrument on stage has become a hallmark of the band's reputation for high energy live shows. The washboards used on stage are available for sale at the merchandise table at their concerts.
Max Senteney – drums He plays a small drum kit, augmented with a five-gallon plastic bucket fitted with drum hardware. The band claims they are the only rock band with a bucket endorsement deal-LOL. -------------------------------------------- As always there might be an occasional tick or pop on some of the vinyl which can be remedied by professional cleaning and using "Last" preservative to recondition the vinyl. All these have been ultrasonic cleaned but LPs need to be cleaned every couple of years.
All vinyl (except for sealed albums and new Mosaic Boxes) have been professionally cleaned with an Ultrasonic Cleaner and in some cases treated with the "Last" preservative. Plus all albums come with an external plastic protective cover. Wherever I can I include the original inner sleeve but put cleaned vinyl in a new white non-toxic paper sleeve.
Payment must be received within 3 days or order will be canceled. I include shipping on all albums, there is no additional shipping cost to buyer. Very well packaged and shipped via First Class mail or FedEx insured unless otherwise specified and I only ship within the United States. Message me for local pickup. If buyer wants a different shipping method it will be an additional charge per what it costs me. I am more than happy to email additional photos upon request.
IMPORTANT NOTE - Regarding the quality and playback of vinyl records. Vinyl, generally, is in various stages of quality depending on being an original pressing, deep groove, physical condition, and age of album. The older vinyl is usually dryer which creates little ticks and pops, but that can be handled by professionally softening records with with "Last" record preservation treatment. Another thing to consider is the quality of playback equipment like turntable cartridge and needle. Worn needles can cause all sorts of distortion and damage vinyl irreparably. Plus the difference in sound between a needle's shape, conical, elliptical or the other two can make a big difference in sound as well as picking up imperfections on the record. No vinyl is 100% perfect and even some have particles can be left from the pressing that have to be cleaned off for a pleasant listening experience.
I've been collecting for many years but for the pleasure of playing music not collecting special pressings for resale. I do not test play every album only visual inspection according to Goldmine standards. As stated all my albums have been professionally cleaned with my Ultrasonic cleaning system, except or new (sealed) and new Mosaic box sets (opened for inspection but never played).
