Description
Another rare record from my personal collection amassed over the last 25 years of collecting.
The earliest issue of the Rolling Stones first LP
Decca records LK 4605 with XARL 6271-2A on side one and XARL6272-1A on side two which plays the wrong shorter 2.52 version of Tell me. All later issues play a 4.06 minute version making this extremely rare. Mono
This copy also includes track 4 "Mona" printed on the side 1 red Decca label in place of I need you baby which is printed on the back of the sleeve.
The cover has survived well and is a non flipback version (it was issued with both) There are some creases and wear to the laminate but the spine and top edge are good. There has been a bit of damage to the bottom rear repaired with tape but there are no bits missing. The white is gone a bit yellowed with age and there are a few stains. It is still in very good condition.
The inner is the original and not ripped or torn.
The labels have no serious issues just the usual visible spindle marks around the hole but it is clear this copy has been well cared for.
The record surfaces have light wispy marks from sleeve extraction but there are no heavy marks or deeper scratches and overall this is a very well cared for record just about to be 50 years old.
Good heavy vinyl which plays through with great clarity and only a little light crackle in the run ins and between tracks which never detracts from the music. The sound is clear and undistorted.
Using record collector gradings this record grades VG+.
