Hello and welcome to this auction for a 'The Rolling Stones - Aftermath' first stereo pressing!


This particular pressing is the first UK stereo pressing from 1966. It features the following differences to other pressings:

Front cover has 'stereo' in black box on top left hand side next to catalog no.

The back cover shows the caption ''STEREO SKL 4786' from the middle of the right hand side column and the wording 'STEREO' in all-caps and a large font.

The back cover shows a ''Clarifoil'' caption.


First catalog no. on cover, second on label.


Blue/silver ''unboxed '' deep groove labels.

Rim text starts with ''Made In England By''.






Condition:

Vinyl (visual): Side 1 - hairline scratches and age-related marks with no feelable marks, has a nice gloss and shine! Rated as VERY GOOD. Label would be EXCELLENT if it wasn't for the previous owner writing his name next to the Decca logo.                      Side 2 - same as Side 1 with a few more light, non-feelable hairlines. Easily rated VERY GOOD. Label is EXCELLENT with no writing.



Audio: I have listened to the first two songs on either side ONLY!! There is some crackle on the run-in but doesn’t get in the way of the music. Lovely warmth and punch with nice crisp highs and lots of clarity. Easily rated as VERY GOOD+! A really enjoyable listen.



Sleeve: The original 1966 front laminated sleeve is in VERY GOOD condition. The front is clean and has a nice shine with light laminate creasing in places and some ringwear. The rear of the sleeve is in the same condition with some discolouration but nice and clean considering the age. Spine is 100% readable with some light creasing. A nice example.
