An original 1970 pressing of Beggars Banquet on the UK Decca Boxed label. Matrix 4K/3K. Please note the label, here, is consistent with a pressing from 1970 - around two years after first release. The publishing credit 'Mirage' is shown on Side 1, the font is NOT chubby, and there are no dots in the matrix and tape number. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original gatefold cover printed by Robert Stace. Also included is an original 1970 Decca inner sleeve - date coded to May 1970.
Vinyl (Ex+) Wowzers this is the kind of copy you dream about. A beautiful low-mileage shiny copy - there are barely any signs of use around the spindle hole. Under close inspection we struggled to make out a single mark. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are silent and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. The audio is nothing short of stunning and I don't recall listening to a copy this good for quite some time. Beggars contains a lot of quite paired down low-key tracks and these are the test of a good copy. Even moderately played copies will show deterioration in these tracks. This copy really is tremendously well preserved and plays clean as anything through all those low-key tracks. Beautiful sound reproduction - Decca have outdone themselves here - we're only two years off from the original masters and that certainly is helping here. Interference is practically non-existent. All we detected was a couple of crackles [literally] throughout the entire record. It is a very very nice clean player. Please note the side 1 label has been signed.
Cover (Ex-) In very nice condition and has clearly been cared for down the years.  A lovely shiny front and back with only some light marks and a light indentation of a name on the front in the extreme top-right. The interior is in superb condition. There's only light edge wear. The text on the spine is still visible, but it has started to fold [see pic]. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity and remains a terrific early example.
Inner (Ex+) No issues at all and no splits.
