Description

Here is a beautiful two record box set by the Rolling Stones. It is on the Japanese Decca label - #CM-5 and #CM-6 and was originally released in 1971.
The two LP set comes in a tough vinyl box that closes with the use of two snaps, as can be seen in the attached images. Inside the box are the two LP's, an obi that was folded once and a booklet with color cover and lyrics in both Japanese and English.
I find it interesting that over the years, Decca has used red labels for Mono records and blue labels for stereo records. In this case, the two records have red (mono) labels but the labels both indicate "Full frequency stereo sound." Secondly, after play testing some of each disc, the first disc sounded to me like it was entirely in mono and the second disc did sound like the cuts were in stereo.
I play tested some of each disc on my Denon DP- 62L turntable with Shure cartridge. I was amazed that the discs looked and played in Mint condition. There was dynamic sound on these Japanese pressed discs and there was silence in the lead-in grooves and between the cuts. These discs are like-new and sound great!
The vinyl "box" is also in Mint condition and both snaps (top and bottom) work fine. The obi was folded in the middle and has a slight tear at the top. The booklet is in very nice, fine condition.
This is great Rolling Stones souvenir from the 70's (It's 51 years old!)
