Description
Over the summer I will be listing over 3000 rare and collectable record 33 rpm LP albums from my fathers incredible vinyl collection. 12" and lots of 45 rpm. I am not an expert on grading albums but will do my best to describe. I will be listing rock, folk, classic, rythm and blues, jazz, etc. I will gladly combine shipping!!! The orchestra is The Royal Opera House Orchestra, Covent garden, under the direction of Ernest Ansermet. It says on the label that it is recorded in England, "Stereo-Orthophonic" High fidelity, His Master's Voice. This is not the re-issue from Classic records, this is one of the beautiful albums from the Soria Series Collection.
It includes a beautiful 23 page book with color pictures, printed in Italy by Amilcare Pizzi, for the Soria series of the RCA Victor record division, Radio Corporation of America and is also in excellent condition. THERE ARE TWO PAGES WITH TEARS. SEE PICS, ONE IS ON THE LAST PAGE AND THE OTHER IS ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE COLOR PICTURE. ASIDE FROM THE 2 TEARS THE BOOK IS NEAR MINT. There is another separate sheet, like a program listing in NEAR MINT condition. The book has photos, artwork, a drawing of Ansermet done by Picasso. each ballet is described.
The 2 records, book and program listing are housed in a linen box which is in VERY GOOD condition. There are a few tiny age spots and a couple of small tears in the linen as would be expected. SEE PIC AT BOTTOM OF COVER. The records fit into a case on which there is a black wooden spine which appears to be covered in black leather. The lettering on the spine is all in gold and looks fabulous. This piece locks down into the linen case.
