Description

1992 WEA re-issue of The Smiths "How Soon Is Now? b/w "Hand In Glove" original single version. These were The Smiths 6th and 1st releases on Rough Trade in 1985 and 1983 respectively. This re-issue charted at UK No.16 in 1992, whereas the original only made No.24 in 1985. "Hand In Glove" failed to chart although a version by Sandie Shaw, with The Smiths backing her, made UK No.27 in 1984, with a classic appearance on Top Of The Pops (minus Morrissey) on record. Cover art, in typical Smiths fashion, features Vanessa Redgrave with David Hemmings in a still from the 1966 movie "Blow Out". This was released as a promo for the "The Smiths Best..." album released the same year. Hard to find version on vinyl.
