Description
The Squires 45
Going All The Way b/w Go ahead
Atco 6442 Label
Original pressing from 1966
American garage band formed 1965 in Bristol, Connecticut. Founder members: Michael Bouyea (dr, g, voc), Thomas Flanigan (lead g, voc), Kurt Robinson (org), John Folcik (b). They were originally known as The Rogues, releasing one single on the Peyton label under that name.
An instant classic in the garage rock genre, The Squires only became popular in more recent years, with the songs "Going All The Way" and "Go Ahead" being underrated examples of untapped talent. Their only single under the Squires name proves that they succeed in ways that more wealthy and popular musicians failed. The single, released on Atco Records, only made a small success in their home state of Connecticut, and nowhere else in the country.
In 1967, Michael Bouyea and Kurt Robinson were drafted by the US military during the Vietnam War, and the band was all but broken up.
However, in 2009, the band went through several small reunion gigs, with most of the original members.
The record is in Mint- condition.
