Description

Up for auction is a rare/scarce 45 rpm 10 inch acetate single from an Unknown Artist/Unknown Group (No Name Given on Label)

Track Listing:
Rescue Me / Rescue Me (Instrumental)

CONDITION:
Acetate playing surface is in Visual VG+ (Very Good+) Grade condition
Plays clean, but there is a skip towards the end of the track (please download track to hear).
There is some flaking, but not on the playing surface area.

"Rescue Me" -- Great mid to uptempo northern soul cut with just outstanding vocals and backing female harmony vocals. Includes a great backing rhythm section that they decided to use the instrumental version for the b-side.  Strange how the instro version is not faded out and just cuts out. Made me wonder if this was ever released officially, or there were more takes.
My belief is that the vocal side is truly the winner here with super vocals!
Recorded at the Associated Recording Studios in New York, NY.

This acetate single was from the collection of 60s-70s Philadelphia and New York City record producer Sonny Casella --- who more than likely produced this single!
Some of these singles up for auction were released, but many I've found were most likely never issued!!!
Friends of mine have told me that these acetates seem worthy of compiling for a collection, but time is not on my side. Seems like a worthy endeavor for someone who is willing to make time!
