Shaped picture disc records weren't born in the 80s, but they became immensely popular during that decade. It just seemed like the thing to do. Release your new single on a fun and whimsical vinyl picture disc, usually with an odd shape and/or colors. Today we take a look at SIX different artists, and SIX rare shaped picture disc singles from the 80s and 90s!
All of these are from the 80s and 90s, so around the thirty or forty year mark. They all look like they're in good shape, with a couple looking better than the others. Only Seal comes in its original clear PVC jacket with backing card. The rest will come in clear generic sleeves. Most have a few light surface marks on them. Two are starting to oxidize a bit. (That just means an inferior clear vinyl was used and gets discolored over the years.) I can't vouch for the sound quality as I never play specialty vinyl such as pic discs or colored records. Older picture discs usually sound bad anyway, as it took them many years to work out the bugs. Today's picture discs sound amazing!
