Description
Life's like that isn't it?
You may be the greatest living Englishman and a genius t'boot but the record company still manage to spell your name wrong on the label.
VIVIAN STAN(D)SHALL: Lakonga/Baba Tunde (1974 UK Warner Bros K16424 DEMO PRESSING)
I take it we are all friends here? I don't need to explain or lionize the mighty Stanshall - or as this record has it "Standshall" - do I? Good let's begin.
This is an almightily rare record for Bonzo Dog collectors. Not only is it the only 45 to creep off his already much sought after "Men Opening Umbrellas" album it is the DEMO version AND manages to get his name wrong. Behold - Viv StanDshall! Well done everyone at Warner Brothers! That'll make an artist feel valued alright.
This atrocious howler was corrected for the released copies which only goes to make this particular version even more of a collectors piece. In any shape or form this record is a true lost artefact for Bonzo completists. I do not recall ever seeing one on eBay before. It is, to resort to the jargon, a very exciting find.
The vinyl is near perfect - clean and clear without scuff, blemish or scratch.
The labels are of the correct white and red Warners Demo type. They are clearly marked with the large A of a test pressing and "Not For Sale".
It comes in a regular WB company bag.
Good luck Doggers - this is the sort of extreme rarity and label oddity eBay was made for. And Bonzo collectors can sleep easier knowing it is safely gathered in.
