Vee-Jay VJ 498.
We have been very lucky to have had this record donated to us to raise money for the Oxfam charity. The successful bidder will win a rare collector's piece and the money raised will help people in trouble across the world.
The Beatles: Pleae Please Me / Ask Me Why. A first pressing of the first Beatles single released in the U.S.
It has the misprint " Beattles" on the "Ask Me Why" side.
On the runouts are etched: A side : 63-2967, 46527 preceded by a triangle, MR (in a circle) and what looks like RA. It also has a tiny stamp which reads Audio Matrix and a scribble which looks as if it may be SM
B side is the same except it's 63-2968 and it's 46527X.
The MR confirms we have a Monarch recording
The record is scratch free but has been played so is graded as "Excellent" The one down side is it does not have its original sleeve so will come in a new plain white one.
No postage to Europe at the moment. Sorry. It is to do with VAT registration. Hopefully soon sorted.
We will send by courier , tracked with insurance. We will pay the extra.
