Description
This first edition, first pressing on black vinyl of The Velvet Underground & Nico is a treasure for all collectors featuring the iconic, intact Andy Warhol cover art It is known as the "Torso" cover that shows the upside down torso of "Emerson" on the back cover. This cover was later edited with a sticker and eventually that part of the photo was removed due to a lawsuit that the picture was used without permission. This copy was pressed on the West Coast.
Originally released in the United States in March 1967 and played at 33 RPM, this 12" record boasts a cardboard sleeve that is solid with no wrinkles, cuffs or tears. There is slight ring wear on the back cover (see photos). It comes with the original inner sleeve with ads from Verve records clean and in great shape. The vinyl and label are in excellent condition that is a must for collectors!
This is actually the East Coast Pressing of this record. SORRY My mistake. I can't edit the listing without canceling the auction. There is a 12 stamped on side 1 in the runoff groove and the songwriters names do not have the first initial listed on this version. If you wish to withdraw your bid I will completely understand.
