Description

I have up for auction a very rare record (One Sided 10" 78) on the red and gold Gramophone Concert Record label-The Gramophone and Typewriter Ltd., and Sister Companies from the early 1900s, pre-1909. It is #G.C.-52345 by Enrico Caruso, and he is accompanied by Piano (Cottone, I believe). Selection is Manon-"Il sogno". It was Caruso's 4th recording in Milan April 1902. This was not released in the USA, and perhaps only one other release on British Historical Series label later on. It is Second Stamper, number 1785 at the bottom of trail off and the 52345 at the top, with the "CO" at the right. The record is in very good condition, not overly worn and scuffs and scratches are few, light and almost all surface variety, none deep. Playhole is a bit enlarged.
