Vintage 1960s ACETATE Jonathan Winters Comedy Routines Baseball + Teen Age Kid +
WoW..... offered is a two sided Acetate Style Record from the late 1950s or early 1960s with type-written labels: JONATHAN WINTERS / 1- BASEBALL HISTORY 2- TEEN AGE KID and on the second side: 3- INTERNATL. BALLISTICS MISSILE

Obtained from the estate of a gentleman who had been a corporate lawyer for a major record label, this lacquer coated, "Presto" brand aluminum disc (acetate style record) has ASSOCIATED RECORDING STUDIOS marked labels with a New York, New York address and is also marked 33 1/3 microgroove in typed letters and numbers. The disc is 12" in diameter, two sided and the record comes inside of it's original PRESTO RECORDING CORPORATION marked paper sleeve. The Associated Recording Studios labels are glued over the top of original Presto labels.

We have not played this 12" diameter, 33 rpm acetate record so cannot describe it's contents. Having Associated Recording Studios labels, we doubt that these were home copied from a broadcast or other common source but we really don't know... it is quite possible that this disc contains a one of a kind recording of Jonathan Winters performing three different comedy routines from early in his career. We know that Winters performed a routine later in life that had a Baseball History theme but we could not find a reference to a Teen Age Kid or Intercontinental Ballistic Missile routine specifically associated with him. Winters must have introduced and then dropped (and reintroduced?) hundreds (if not thousands) of comedy routines throughout his career.

The labels show glue-bleed through from the adhesive used to attach them to the original Presto labels and the second side label is loose (peeling up) on the right-hand side. The recording surfaces are glossy showing moderate scratches and scuffs from handling... in record grading terms this would probably grade in about Very Good Plus used condition with the label defects not taken into account. Please examine the photos and e-mail any questions you may have regarding the disc prior to auction end or purchase. Due to the nature of acetate discs, we cannot guarantee suitability for audio playback... being sold as a historical collectible only. That said, this acetate is in very nice condition and should be playable as presented.

This may contain some rare and surprising audio from early in Jonathan Winters career... in any case a wonderful and possibly one of a kind Jonathan Winters, Comedy and Acetate collectible... OUTSTANDING
