HERE WE HAVE A SUPERB, UK HARVEST (SHSP 4008) SECOND PRESSING OF "Music from the Body"
ORIGINALLY RELEASED IN NOVEMBER 1970 THIS COPY PROBABLY DATES FROM AROUND 1973 BUT IS HOUSED IN THE FIRST ISSUE TRI-FLIPBACK SLEEVE INDICATING A VERY EARLY SECOND PRESS (this pressing is more commonly found in the standard 2nd press non-flipback sleeve)

Music from The Body is the soundtrack album to Roy Battersby's 1970 documentary film The Body, about human biology, narrated by Vanessa Redgrave and Frank Finlay.
The music was composed in collaboration between Pink Floyd's Roger Waters and Ron Geesin, and employs biomusic, including sounds made by the human body (slaps, breathing, laughing, whispering, etc.), in addition to more traditional guitar, piano and stringed instruments.
The date of this album places it between Ummagumma and Atom Heart Mother, the latter featuring Geesin as a collaborator.
The album's final track, "Give Birth to a Smile", features an uncredited appearance by all four members of Pink Floyd, with Geesin playing piano.
The result is a precursor to some of Waters' and Pink Floyd's later work ("Breathe" for example, which would later appear in completely reworked form on The Dark Side of the Moon)

LABELS: CLEAN, BRIGHT and UNMARKED with only a few (mega) light spindles
VINYL Visual: The surfaces retain their original DEEP, GLOSSY sheen. There are some superficial light hairlines but these have NO major audio consequence - The LP plays BEAUTIFULLY throughout
VINYL Audio: INTERESTING AND UNUSUAL LP WITH SOME BEAUTIFUL GENTLE SONGS FROM ROGER WATERS. The audio is CRYSTAL CLEAR, DEEP, RICH and WARM. There are NO scratches, NO sticks, NO jumps but due to the majority of the LP being extremely quiet there is some occasional surface noise but absolutely nothing major and certainly nothing I found intrusive. In all honesty I do not think you will find a copy which sounds much better than this. The record plays to an impressively high standard with NO discernible groove-wear and NO distortion and must be critically graded a very strong EXCELLENT for audio - SOUNDS SUPERB. NOT over-graded in ANY way as I use STRICT RECORD COLLECTOR grading standards (please refer to my feedback and 'About Me' page)
SLEEVE: The first issue sleeve is in EXCELLENT+ condition. The sleeve is CLEAN, FRESH and BRIGHT with hardly any storage wear to speak of. The front laminate has a DEEP, DEEP gloss with only one light crease to the top corner and the unlaminated back is UNMARKED. The spine (pinched at the top and bottom) is straight and true with all text CLEAR and BOLD. BEAUTIFUL FIRST PRESS SLEEVE
