Description
The Triple Inchophone is a specialized record player which plays reformatted White Stripes singles on 3-inch records. The track "Top Special" is exclusive to the 3-inch format. There were 1000 produced, but you'll need the Inchophone to hear it. While the band was intent on purchasing as many of the record players as possible from the manufacturer, Bandai, in the end there were only 400 available. This makes the record player one of the rarest, most sought after of all the White Stripes collectibles and worth far more than it would have been otherwise. Even the Rob Jones-designed White Stripes 45 boxes (used to store either the Inchophone or 7" singles) are known to sell for astronomical sums (I have one of those, too, if the winner wants to make me an offer- or you can wait... I'll put it up to sell after this auction's over either way). The Inchophone and 45 box were available only at the shows on the 2005–06 Who's a Big Baby? World Tour.
There are also 3-inch records for "The Denial Twist" that are only available from Jack personally. I have never had one, and there is not one included here.
Condition: excellent. barely touched. kept in its box, wrapped always in a thousand layers of bubble wrap. before taking these pictures of it, I tried out each record and they all played perfectly.
Included: The inchophone in it's original box, instruction manual, bizarre japanese record that came with it, and 3" pressings of Dead Leaves on the Dirty Ground, Seven Nation Army, Top Special, Blue Orchid, Fell in Love with a Girl, and Hotel Yorba.
