Description

Willem Breuker - "Litany for the 14th of June" LP on Wergo, recorded in 1966 and sub-titled "Free Jazz from Holland." Rare and amazing debut from Breuker, one side features an orchestra, and the other a quintet. It doesn't list the players on the back of the jacket for some reason, but a little "sleuthing" has yielded these results... orchestra side features Hans Dulfer (tenor), Kees Hazevoet (p), Arjen Gorter (bass), Pierre Courbois (drums) and about 13 others; quintet side features Misha Mengelberg (piano), Dick van der Capellen, Victor Kaihatu (bass), Pierre Courbois (drums, perc). Breuker plays clarinet, bass clarinet, soprano, alto, tenor, and baritone on both sides. Record: NM ; Jacket: EX with small bend in lower righ corner.
