Selling both the original LP & CD of Willie Colon/Hector Lavoe Crime Pays. These could be considered the "holy grails" of Salsa dura just based on the art alone. The music would also qualify. These are original not re-mastered and I am the original owner of both. The LP I purchased in the mid 70's when I was just 20 years old. I dubbed it on cassette and put it away. I kept it with me everywhere I lived after that because I loved the art work, only playing it a few times more over the years to make master cassettes from. As you can see for the age it is in excellent condition, the cover having no writing and the slightest yellowing, the record itself has very small superficial scratches that don't affect play in anyway. The CD I purchased in the 90's from Descarga in NY, the best source for rare and hard to find Salsa Dura CD's. I had to wait almost 1 month for them to locate it for me because of the great demand. I purchased hundreds of CD's from them for around $20 a piece with shipping each, (which was very pricey at the time), and have kept them in mint condition over the years, just ripping them onto my computer once and putting them away. Beware of people claiming rare titles that still exist on the market, do your research before buying, most titles I see listed as rare or out of print are either still in stock or remastered, so beware and do your homework before paying a lot of money for cd's you can still purchase. I check every source I know before determining value and rarity. I will be listing more titles in the future. This CD is mint and the art is very clean with not writing or yellowing at all. The case has light scratching on it, but overall is like new. Take a close look at the pictures they are exactly what you are getting. These are must haves for collectors of rare 70's salsa or club DJ's of Salsa dura. I do sell internationally, but postage will be your responsibility due to the high cost including insurance.
