Description

THE BEATLES - 'WITH THE BEATLES'

1963 UK 1st *STEREO* PRESSING LP

This UK 1st STEREO pressing dates from release in November 1963 and is on the yellow & black Parlophone label: PCS 3045

Both labels omit the 'Sold in UK..' text but carry 'The Parlophone Co. Ltd..' worded rims.

The publishing credit for song 'Money' is the initial incorrect: 'Jobete Mus. NCB'

The track 3 title on side 2 is incorrectly spelt: 'You Really Gotta Hold On Me'

The 'KT' purchase tax code is visible around the side 1 centre hole.

Housed in a, early front laminated, tri-flipback 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed cover with the large stereo indicator & 'darker' front image.

The track listing on the rear misspells track 3 on side 2 as 'You Really Gotta Hold On Me'

Complete with its original 'Use Emitex..' rice-paper lined inner-sleeve.

Matrix numbers: YEX 110-2 & YEX 111-2

Stamper codes: 3/RT & 2/RO

Disc weight: 153g

CONDITION

Disc

Labels: EXCELLENT

Both are clean & undamaged bearing nothing more than a small collection of spindle marks around each slightly worn centre hole.

Visual: EXCELLENT -

Both playing surfaces are clean & glossy with just some harmless inner-sleeve removal marks on side 1 and a single non-feelable 2cm hairline scratch on side 2 when viewed in strong daylight. Careful examination directly beneath my powerful halogen desk lamp reveals some more light hairline-type marks consistent with careful handling & play but no other significant blemishes or wear to either side of this cherished copy which lies 100% flat both sides when playing.

Play: EXCELLENT +

This copy has received a number of plays on excellent equipment but the sound quality is clean, warm & unworn. My single careful playcheck at volume detected no groove/play wear or background noise on or between any other these explosive tracks. The entire album is also free from any clicks, pops, jumps or repeats and adds up to an impressive listening experience.

Cover

VERY GOOD +

A respectable & early example of this iconic cover which bears a bright and clean front panel laminate displaying jst three faint 'thumbnails' and a a touch of storagewear but no majors signs of wear. There is slight bruising to the corners and minor handling wear to the opening edges, but no tears to either. The rear panel displays some general handling marks, chiefly towards the opening edge but is free from any writing or missing paper. All flipbacks are intact and both seams and the fuly worded spine are unstressed & unsplit.

Inner-sleeve

VERY GOOD +

Clean & crisp with minor age-toning & few age-related blemishes but no seams splits, tears or writing.
