Atlantic 45-3242 / US mono/stereo promotional copy housed in original company sleeve
Description
This was previously sold to me as unplayed warehouse stock and apart from two faint – and I mean ’faint’ surface marks on the A-side (mono side), this really doesn’t look as though its been played! Disc surface glistens like new the labels are practically spotless on both sides. Sleeve shows just the slightest bit of wear from handling/storage. This is a beautiful copy and I don’t think a better copy exists.
NB: This particular copy was manufactured by Plastic Products in Memphis, Tennessee, as indicated by the letters “PL” after the matrix numbers and is the second rarest variation of this pressing (MO, being the rarest and SP the most common).

Grading
I use Record Collector magazine’s grading system to state the condition of each item – record, sleeve, etc., and check each item visually under LED lighting for

Mint (Record): Is in new/perfect condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. Sleeve: Is mint and any additional items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition.
Excellent (Record): Shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening of sound quality. Sleeve: The sleeve and packaging might have slight wear and, or creasing.
Very Good (Record): Has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Sleeve: Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
Good (Record): Has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. Sleeve: Cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration etc.
Fair (Record): Is still playable, but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise: it may even jump. Sleeve: Cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
