"YOUNG AMERICANS" and "STATIONTOSTATION". DAVID BOWIE. 2 × 12" Vinyl Albums..
I recently took my vinyl collection to an auction house in Stroud, Gloucestershire (Stroud Auctions). It is a large and impressive auction house which quite recently has taken an interest in selling vinyl and music memorabilia in a broader sense (musical instruments, amps, posters, badges, concert tickets, record players, reel to reel kit etc. etc).
The specialist there who knows a great deal about vinyl looked through my 100+ albums and sorted them into smaller groups...heavy metal, prog rock, etc.
Eventually he picked out a group of Jimmi Hendrix albums which he said would make a good lot...then he picked out about a dozen albums which he suggested I should sell on their own...on Ebay. He said they would make alot more money here, rather than being swamped amongst other more mundane albums.
This pair of David Bowie albums caught his eye.
He looked them over, noticed the STATIONTOSTATION album had its original inserts and he graded this album and the "Young Americans" album as "Very good - Excellent" .
Whilst the vinyl isn't pristine, any marks look pretty superficial and would probably clean off with a record cloth.
Having said this, I DO NOT HAVE A TURNTABLE AND HAVE NOT PLAYED THESE ALBUMS FOR MANY YEARS. THERE MAY BE SCRATCHES, SKIPS, BACKGROUND CRACKLE etc. I MAKE NO WARRANTY OR CLAIMS ABOUT PLAYABILITY.
I can only say the vinyl looks pretty good.
Sleeves and inner sleeves generally good with only a couple of small chips.
No personalisations or inscriptions, no price tags etc.
Postage is AT COST. Royal Mail 2nd class signed for. Plus reinforced card mailer =£5.
