Up for bids is a great, rare, mono Jazz LP by the Yusef Lateef Quintet called "The Sounds Of Lateef". Prestige Records. PRLP 7122. 1957.RARE ORIGINAL FIRST PRESSING!
DEEP GROOVE PRESSING!
YELLOW LABELS WITH "446 W. 50th ST., N.Y.C." ADDRESS ON BOTH!Both sides' Trail-Off's have the stamped "RVG"!
Front of cover is laminated.
BACK OF COVER HAS "447 west 50th street, new york 19, n.y." ADDRESS, BOTTOM-RIGHT!
Record's edges are raised.
Comes with plain white inner sleeve (probably original) in VG++ condition (record will be shipped in separate polylined sleeve and outside cover).
NOTE:
The grades I use are Mint (rarely used grade), Near Mint, VG+++ (rarely used grade), VG++, VG+, VG, VG Minus, Good+, Good, Fair and Poor.
Cover is in Good condition. Front has some minor wear. Back of cover has some wear and some staining. Cover has a curve to it. Top and bottom both have marks all the way across from removed dried-up tape. Top of cover has a 9 3/8" split starting at opening. Bottom-center has a 3 1/8" split. Back of cover also has a written price at the top-left.
I would rate the record’s condition as a VG+. Looks really nice with some superficial marks that do not affect play. A little surface noise at times, but not much wear at all! Record still sounds great on my player! GOD BLESS PRESTIGE & VAN GELDER!
